I am thrilled to announce that by popular demand we are now offering a second Faroe Islands Tour in September 2026.
When I visited the islands recently, I realised that the combination of incredible food, dramatic scenery, and deep local culture was simply too special not to share. Over four unforgettable days, 12 lucky guests will join me for an immersive, all-in culinary journey through this extraordinary destination.
Together, we’ll explore the very best of Faroese gastronomy:
Restaurant Ræst, where chef Sebastian Jiménez weaves his Mexican roots into the islands’ traditional fermentation techniques, and where Karin Visth has just been awarded the Special Service Award by Denmark’s White Guide — the same guide that named Ræst one of the country’s best restaurants.
Restaurant Paz, where former Koks chef Poul Andrias Ziska has already earned a well-deserved two Michelin stars in record time.
Restaurant Áarstova, famed for its traditional Faroese lamb and seafood, served in a beautifully restored historic house in the heart of Tórshavn.
The tour also includes a truly unique Skerpi Experience — an intimate lunch beside a calm fjord where seafood is lifted directly from the water, prepared moments later, and served in a small wooden hut that perfectly captures the purity and simplicity of Faroese cooking.
One of the most magical moments of the tour will be an open-fire breakfast in the kitchen gardens of Restaurant Ræst, set right on the edge of the sea. As the fire crackles, we’ll gather overlooking a sweeping stretch of coastline, surrounded by the same herbs and plants used in Ræst’s fermentation-driven cooking. With the scent of smoke in the air and waves rolling in beneath us, this simple, elemental breakfast becomes something unforgettable — a rare chance to experience Faroese produce, landscape, and tradition in their purest form.
To elevate the journey even further, we’ll head out on a boat adventure to Hestur–Klæmintsgjógv, exploring sea cliffs, hidden grottoes, and one of the most impressive sea caverns in the North Atlantic.
We’ll also hike the iconic Trælanípa trail, finishing at the spectacular lake-over-ocean viewpoint and the dramatic waterfall that plunges straight into the Atlantic — one of the Faroe Islands’ most breathtaking natural sights.
We’ll stay at the stunning Hotel Føroyar, where every guest enjoys a sea-view room and full access to the hotel’s serene Ress Spa — the perfect place to unwind each day.
There is also an option to join us the night before we fly to the Faroes at Scandinavia's newest three star restaurant Kadeau in Copenhagen at an additional cost of just 550 GBP
What’s included?
When I say all-in, I mean it. The tour includes:

Limited to just 7 guests
6 days. 3 countries. 19 Michelin stars.
An immersive journey through the very best of Scandinavian dining, moving seamlessly from Stockholm to Oslo and on to Copenhagen, with every detail taken care of — including flights at civilised times, luxury hotels, and an unforgettable night deep in the Swedish woodlands.
We begin in Stockholm at ⭐⭐⭐ Frantzén, before flying to Oslo for an extraordinary evening at ⭐⭐⭐ Maaemo, enjoyed in the intimacy of their private dining room.
From there, we continue to Copenhagen, arriving in time for one of the most ambitious dining experiences in the world at ⭐⭐🍀 Alchemist.
A major highlight of this year's tour is a visit to Noma (⭐️⭐️⭐️🍀) in Copenhagen. Reopening following its acclaimed Los Angeles residency, Noma remains one of the most influential restaurants of the modern era and one of the world's most sought-after reservations. Dining here offers a rare opportunity to experience the restaurant as it embarks on an exciting new chapter in its home city.Copenhagen then delivers one of the great days in global gastronomy: lunch in the private Inspiration Kitchen at ⭐⭐⭐ Geranium, followed by dinner at ⭐⭐⭐ Jordnær — a perfectly balanced six-star day showcasing the elegance and precision of modern Nordic cuisine.
We then step away from the cities and into the wild, travelling to ⭐🍀 Knystaforsen, where Nicolai and Eva Tram have created something truly special — a place of smoke, fire, and deep connection to nature. Along the way, a surprise lunch awaits.
After a night in the forest, we return to Copenhagen to close the journey at one of Denmark´s most grand hotels. A refined private lunch at ⭐ Marchal, set within the iconic d’Angleterre, where a specially devised menu for our group showcases the great traditions of art de la table — from duck à la presse, pithiviers and turbotière to crêpe Suzette and the theatre of the cheese chariot, the chefs at Marchal will be showing off the absolute best of Marchal´s menu and opening up just for us in a private salon.
Throughout the journey, we stay in some of Scandinavia’s finest hotels — carefully chosen not just for their luxury, but for their sense of place. From refined city icons in Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen to a truly unique night deep in the Swedish wilderness, each property has been selected to complement the rhythm of the tour. Expect comfort, character, and the kind of understated elegance that defines Scandinavian hospitality.

Should a change be required, an alternative restaurant of equal or greater quality will always be arranged. Such changes do not entitle guests to a refund, discount, or cancellation.
We will also enjoy a private tasting of Txakoli, the distinctive white wine that has become synonymous with the Basque coastline. Produced from indigenous grape varieties and traditionally poured from height to enhance its freshness, Txakoli offers a fascinating insight into the region's winemaking heritage and gastronomic culture.
Following the tasting we continue to Garena, one of the Basque Country's most exciting dining destinations. Set within a beautifully restored farmhouse overlooking the surrounding countryside, Garena combines contemporary creativity with a deep respect for local ingredients and traditions, offering a fitting celebration of modern Basque cuisine. A surprise for my guests on the last Basque tour this was unanimously a highlight (as I knew it would be) and will now feature on all my tours in this region. A highlight of the tour will be an exclusive evening at Rekondo, famed for its legendary wine cellar and collection of mature vintages. Few restaurants in the world offer such a remarkable combination of Basque cuisine, hospitality and vinous history. The opportunity to dive into this world famous wine list is quite frankly impossible to resist. We will certainly have the opportunity to visit the cellar here also. There will be an evening to enjoy San Sebastián at your leisure, widely regarded as one of the world's great food cities. Wander through the atmospheric streets of the Old Town, discover traditional pintxos bars bustling with locals, and sample everything from freshly grilled seafood and Iberian ham to innovative bite-sized creations. Whether you choose to bar-hop your way through the city or simply enjoy a glass of wine overlooking La Concha Bay, this is an opportunity to experience the more informal side of Basque gastronomy. What’s Included • All restaurant menus 🍽️ • Transportation to and from all restaurants from the San Sebastián pick up point (Hotel Maria Christina)🚍 • Hosted throughout by Achefabroad Tours 👨🍳 • Txakoli tasting experience 🍾 • Exclusive buyout event at Ibai 🔐 • A visit to the Rekondo wine cellars 🍷 What's not Included • Accommodation 🏨 • Flights and travel to San Sebastián ✈️ • Alcoholic beverages and other drinks 🍻 • Travel insurance (strongly recommended) 🛡️ • Personal expenses 💳 Please note: Drinks are not included and should be settled directly with the restaurants. Hotel accommodation is not included in the tour price, allowing guests the flexibility to choose their preferred level of comfort in San Sebastián. I am happy to make recommendations and also bookings as a supplemental cost. The pickup and drop off point in San Sebastián is the Hotel Maria Christina. The drivers can only stop here and pickup from here. The Experience This tour is about context as much as consumption — understanding why fire matters here, why simplicity is revered, and how the Basques continue to influence chefs across the world. It is carefully paced, logistically seamless, and designed so that guests can focus entirely on the food, the people, and the place. For those who consider the Basque Country essential culinary ground, this is a rare opportunity to experience its most important tables in one exceptional journey. If you wish to extend your tour to include other restaurants then this can also be arranged. This tour is priced at 3250 GBP A non-refundable deposit of 1500 GBP is required to secure a place on this tour. With the remaining balance due before September 1st 2026. 25 February – 4 March 2027
Mexico is one of the world's great culinary destinations. From internationally acclaimed restaurants to bustling markets, hidden taco stands and centuries-old mezcal traditions, this tour has been designed to showcase the extraordinary diversity of Mexican food and culture.
Over eight unforgettable days, we'll experience the very best of both Mexico City and Oaxaca—two regions that together define the heart and soul of Mexican gastronomy.
In Mexico City, we'll dine at some of Latin America's most celebrated restaurants, including Pujol, Quintonil, Rosetta, Máximo Bistrot, Contramar and Sud 777. These restaurants represent the very pinnacle of modern Mexican cuisine, each offering its own unique interpretation of the country's extraordinary ingredients and culinary heritage.
Away from the dining rooms, we'll discover the Mexico that most visitors never see. Together with expert local guides, we'll explore the colourful canals of Xochimilco, learning about the remarkable chinampa farming system that has sustained the city for centuries before enjoying a traditional lunch prepared using seasonal produce harvested directly from the floating gardens. We'll also enjoy a guided mezcal tasting, discovering the traditions and craftsmanship behind one of Mexico's most iconic spirits.
Our exploration continues through the streets of Mexico City itself. We'll discover the incredible San Juan Gourmet Market, sample exceptional Mexican cheeses and exotic native fruits, wander through Chinatown and the historic centre, and enjoy two bespoke street food experiences that showcase why Mexico City is regarded as one of the world's greatest destinations for tacos.
From iconic Tacos al Pastor and traditional Tacos de Canasta to neighbourhood taquerías that have been feeding locals for generations, these carefully curated experiences provide an authentic look at the city's extraordinary food culture. Along the way we'll slip behind hidden doors into some of the capital's finest speakeasy bars before finishing one evening with innovative coffee cocktails in one of the city's best-kept secrets.
The second half of our journey takes us to Oaxaca, widely regarded as the spiritual home of Mexican cuisine and a region where ancient culinary traditions remain wonderfully intact.
Here we'll experience a completely different side of Mexican gastronomy, dining at some of Oaxaca's finest restaurants including Criollo, Enrique Olvera's celebrated tribute to traditional Oaxacan cooking; Alfonsina, one of Mexico's most acclaimed family-run restaurants; Levadura de Olla, where indigenous ingredients take centre stage; Le Cocina de Humo, showcasing the unmistakable flavours of wood-fired Oaxacan cooking; and Los Pacos, home to one of the country's finest celebrations of Oaxaca's legendary seven moles.
Away from the restaurants, we'll step back through centuries of history at the remarkable archaeological site of Mitla, marvel at the legendary Tule Tree, visit the weaving village of Teotitlán del Valle, explore a traditional mezcal palenque to learn every stage of production, and finish at the spectacular mineral formations of Hierve el Agua, one of Mexico's most breathtaking natural landscapes.
Throughout the tour we'll enjoy exceptional local cuisine alongside these cultural experiences, creating a journey that celebrates not only Mexico's finest restaurants but also the traditions, producers and communities that make its food so extraordinary.
This is not simply a restaurant tour.
It is an immersive journey through one of the world's richest culinary cultures.
