A Five-Day Luxury Journey Through the Heart of the Inca Empire

This experience has been carefully scheduled to begin immediately after The Best of Lima, allowing guests to seamlessly continue their Peruvian adventure. It may also be enjoyed as a standalone luxury journey, with guests joining us directly in Cusco on 9 March.

Designed to complement our exploration of Peru’s extraordinary culinary heritage, this carefully curated experience combines the country’s finest restaurants, luxury hotels, breathtaking landscapes and one of the world’s greatest archaeological wonders into a seamless four-day journey through the Sacred Valley.

Following an à la carte farewell lunch at La Mar in Lima, we’ll travel directly to the airport for our included Premium Economy flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, we’ll be welcomed by our private meet-and-greet team before transferring into the heart of the Sacred Valley to Tambo del Inka, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa.

Nestled beside the Urubamba River and surrounded by spectacular Andean scenery, Tambo del Inka will be our home for the next three nights. Every guest will enjoy one of the hotel’s beautiful Terrace Rooms, providing the perfect place to relax and acclimatise before the adventures ahead. On our first evening, we’ll experience the hotel’s celebrated Garden to Table dinner, showcasing the finest seasonal ingredients from the Sacred Valley.

The following morning, we’ll board the legendary Belmond Hiram Bingham from nearby Río Sagrado Station for one of the world’s great luxury rail journeys. Travelling through the spectacular landscapes of the Sacred Valley, we’ll enjoy Belmond’s renowned hospitality before arriving at Aguas Calientes around lunchtime.

There, our expert private guide will escort us to the magnificent Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, where we’ll explore one of the New Seven Wonders of the World while discovering the remarkable history, engineering and mythology of the Inca civilisation.

Following our guided visit, we’ll celebrate with cocktails at the iconic Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, the only hotel located beside the entrance to Machu Picchu, before boarding the Belmond Hiram Bingham for our return journey through the Andes. As evening falls, we’ll enjoy dinner and Belmond’s exceptional onboard hospitality before returning to the Sacred Valley.

Our third day is dedicated to one of the highlights of the entire Latin American journey—MIL, Virgilio Martínez’s extraordinary restaurant and research centre situated beside the archaeological terraces of Moray. During the complete six-hour MIL Mater Experience, we’ll discover the remarkable biodiversity, traditions and communities that continue to inspire the philosophy behind Central, before enjoying one of the most unique dining experiences anywhere in the world.

That evening, after time to relax back at Tambo del Inka, we’ll travel the short distance to the beautiful Sol y Luna Relais & Châteaux, where we’ll enjoy dinner accompanied by the hotel’s celebrated Peruvian Paso horse show, offering a memorable insight into one of Peru’s most elegant cultural traditions.

On our final day in the Sacred Valley, we’ll explore another fascinating side of the region with a privately guided excursion to the remarkable archaeological site of Chinchero, a visit to a traditional Andean textile centre to meet master weavers, and the spectacular Maras Salt Mines (Salineras de Maras). After a leisurely local lunch, we’ll return to Cusco Airport for our afternoon flight back to Lima, where we’ll spend a final evening at the elegant Country Club Lima Hotel  before departing the following day.

Throughout the journey, every detail has been carefully arranged. To preserve the intimate nature of the experience, The Sacred Valley & Machu Picchu Experience is limited to just eight guests. This allows us to maintain the highest levels of service, flexibility and personal attention throughout the journey while ensuring every guest enjoys a truly exclusive experience.

The experience is priced at £5595 per person, with a Single Occupancy Supplement of £800.

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your place. The remaining balance is payable 90 days prior to departure.

Your deposit enables Achefabroad to secure luxury accommodation, Premium Economy flights, luxury rail tickets, entrance permits to Machu Picchu, private guiding services and specialist ground logistics, many of which require advance payment and have limited availability.
